Message from the President:
As a state-owned backbone enterprise newly built according to the arrangement and requirement of the national telecom restructuring, China Satellite Communications Corporation, one of the six basic telecommunications operators in China, (hereinafter referred to as ¡°China Satcom ¡±) was founded on Dec. 19, 2001, under the management of the Ministry of Information Industry. The establishment of China Satcom was a major strategic move aimed deepening of the reform of telecommunications industry of China and setting a new start point for further development of satellite communications. Specially designated in the state financial plan, China Satcom has had its long-term and annual development plans incorporated into that of the central government. The member enterprises of China Satcom include China Telecommunications Broadcast Satellite Corp., China Orient Telecommunications Satellite Company Co, Ltd., China Space Mobile Satellite Telecommunications Co, Ltd., China Posts & Telecommunications Translation Service Corp. and China Telecom (Hong Kong ) Chinasat Corp.
The main services of China Satcom include satellite special services in communications, broadcast and other fields, satellite mobile communications services, Internet services and VSAT services; network services; 3.5G WLAN services; 800MHz trunking services and comprehensive data services based on GPS; audio, data and multimedia services based on satellite transmission technology; some technical services and some import and export services relating to satellite communications services above; and some other services authorized by state.
The developing strategy of China Satcom is: taking the corporate development as the Central Goal; putting the stress on the Two important targets of increasing economic benefit and making our business attractive and powerful; relying on the Three Innovations of mechanism innovation, technology innovation and management innovation; holding the Four Emphases of strengthening the group cohesion, creating customers¡¯ requirement, providing quality services, and expanding open alliance; constructing the Five-Service systems of Satellite fixed communications, Ground network communications, Mobile communications, Satellite TV-broadcasting service, and Integrated information service. The five systems form an integrated seamless broad-band information service network. By means of distinctive development, China Satcom will become a characteristic and influential communications corporation with the capability of providing integrated telecom services and information services.
In the face of intensifying competition both at home and from abroad, our mission is to be more strenuous and work more arduously, adhering to the principle of ¡°Two Highs & Four News¡±(namely high starting point, high positioning; new mode, new operation, new product and new management). We will carry out the spirit of laborious work, and cooperate widely and honestly with our friends to build a brilliant satellite communications enterprise. |
